The poppy has long been a symbol of remembrance, honoring the courage, sacrifice, and lives of veterans and service members. These stained glass patriotic poppies were created as lasting blooms to catch the light and reflect that meaning in a simple but special way.
This piece is especially personal to me — my dad served in the Air Force during Vietnam, and my grandfather on my mom’s side also served in the Air Force during World War II. I’m also secretary of our Auxiliary and Cootie Auxiliary, and my sister and I grew up understanding the importance of remembrance, service, and supporting veterans and their families.
Creating these feels like a small tribute to all who served, and to the traditions and respect carried through generations.
